## Overview

- **Description**: One Connect orchestrates real-time SAP-to-Snowflake replication via Kafka. Combining SAP-verified extraction using standard triggers with a Snowflake Native App for automated ingestion and idempotent writes, it delivers a secure, consistent data foundation while maintaining Clean Core integrity.
Real-Time Extraction (SAP to Kafka)
The process begins with the One Connect Connector for SAP, a SAP-verified solution that ensures "Clean Core" integrity.
Low-Code Modeling:
Using the SAP Data Modeler, users define Foundational Data Products by visually joining tables and CDS Views (e.g., combining VBAK and VBAP) without writing code.
Smart Streaming:
Standard SAP triggers (BOR, RAP, BTE, PPF) push data changes to the Kubernetes-based Smart Gateway. This component serializes data into Avro, enforces schemas, and streams inserts, updates, and deletes to Kafka, eliminating batch reconciliation.
Automated Ingestion (Kafka to Snowflake)
The Premium Kafka Connector takes over to securely land data in Snowflake, managed entirely through a Snowflake Native Application.
Native Management:
Built on Snowpark and Streamlit, the app allows users to configure pipelines via an 8-step guided wizard directly within Snowflake, eliminating external tools.
Automated Maintenance:
The connector handles automatic table creation and schema evolution while performing idempotent writes (UPSERTs) to ensure data consistency.
Enterprise Security:
Supporting AWS, Azure, and GCP, the connector secures transfers via TLS encryption and uses OAuth with Snowflake’s secret management system to maintain strict governance.
